Lomax Campbell Attends Convening at the White House


On behalf of Mayor Lovely Warren’s Office and the City of Rochester, Lomax R. Campbell, assistant to the vce president of Economic Development and Innovative Workforce Services, attended this year’s “My Brother’s Keeper (MBK) Community Challenge National Convening” at The White House on Thursday February 12, 2015. The Convening brought together representatives from 78 local communities from 32 states across the country that accepted the Community Challenge and hosted local action summits so they can inspire and learn from each other. Opening remarks were provided by Senior Advisor to President Obama, Valerie Jarrett, and Attorney General Eric Holder. As members of City of Rochester’s MBK Taskforce, Lomax and Brittaney Wells, executive staff assistant to the mayor, were charged with gaining insight on best practices for implementing local strategies to address challenges impacting Boys and Young Men of Color.
