Thanksgiving Break Network Upgrades

Over the Thanksgiving break Communications and Network Services staff will perform upgrades on our network and phone infrastructure. These upgrades include security and feature enhancements for our core switches, central firewalls, wireless network, and phone system. The majority of the work will be performed on Saturday 11/24/12 and may result in short periods (approximately 5 – 15 minutes) where campus computing and phone resources are unavailable intermittently. VPN connectivity, Voicemail, and Employee E-Mail, Banner, and SLN may experience outages from off campus.  We will also be performing maintenance on the link to DCC which may result in a brief period (approximately 15 – 30 minutes) of no connectivity to that campus for data or phones. All services will be restored by midnight on Saturday, 11/24/12. To minimize negative impact on the teaching/learning process, beginning Monday 11/26/12, ETS makes every effort not to make changes to critical systems until the end of the semester (12/28/12). Thank you for your patience while we perform these important upgrades.
