Avalone Presents at Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE) Workshop

Valarie Avalone, Director of Planning, served as an invited presenter at the April 2015 MSCHE workshop – Institutional Follow-up: Reports and Visits – in Philadelphia last week. The workshop was for institutions that have required follow-up reports or visits stemming from their most recent Self-Study or Periodic Review Report, with the goal being to assist them in better understanding the process.

In her presentation - Integrated Planning, Resource Allocation, and Institutional Renewal – she shared that while planning is a basic responsibility of all leaders and managers, much can be overlooked if not viewed from an integrated perspective. Integrated planning is the linking of vision, priorities, people, resources, and the physical institution in a flexible system of evaluation, decision-making and action. Avalone concluded by facilitating a discussion with participants on how institutions can best meet the fundamental elements of Standard 2.

Val was also invited to serve on a Middle States evaluation site team earlier this month.
