On Saturday October 30, 2010, Mary Méndez Rizzo presented a workshop entitled “Cultural Trauma and its Effects on Latino Culture.” The workshop was part of a local diversity conference sponsored by UJIMA Rochester, Inc., entitled “A Time for Healing, Educating, and Rebuilding – Exploring the Socio-Cultural Trauma in Racial / Ethnic Communities.” The conference, which ran from October 29-30, provided training, professional, and personal development workshops for youth, educators, human service professionals, parents, and the public at large.
