Colleen Brennan-Barry, assistant director-Web communications, Marketing and Community Relations, recently helped lead and presented at the 2016 Annual Conference of the Higher Education Web Professionals Association (HighEdWeb) in Memphis, Tenn.
In her role as HighEdWeb president, Colleen presented the annual “State of the Profession and the Association” address to the assembled full body of close to 1000 attendees. Over the course of the 5-day event, Colleen also spoke to HighEdWeb Academies members and worked extensively with conference general session presenters LeVar Burton (actor and educator) and Kimberly Bryant (founder, Black Girls Code), as well as with colleagues from 48 states and 7 countries.
Colleen also serves as the Annual Conference committee marketing, communications and attendee relations chair, and has been a member of the HighEdWeb Board of Directors since 2009.
Founded in 1999, HighEdWeb is an international organization of several thousand professionals working to advance the web at institutions of higher education. Members design, develop, manage and map the futures of higher education digital communications and services.
