Reminder: Changes to Downtown Campus Parking Program

As the spring semester begins, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the Downtown Campus parking program, which has been modified following feedback from students and employees at the December 13 forum. Effective Monday, January 22:

  • Lot AA is for student, employee and visitor parking.
  • When Lot AA is full, Lot CC is the alternative parking area for students and employees.

Lot BB and underground reserved parking remain designated for employees only. Parking rules in place for Frontier Field events are unchanged.

MCC recently signed an agreement to lease 200 additional parking spaces in Lot CC from Eastman Kodak Company, bringing the total number of parking spots in that lot for MCC use to 300. The expanded parking addresses the shortage of parking in Lot AA.

Lot CC is accessible from Morrie Silver Way. A sign is posted at the entrance. Due to events at Frontier Field, part of Morrie Silver Way may be closed to traffic. Under these conditions, students and employees will be able to enter Lot CC via Oak Street. As the larger lot is shared with Carestream Health and Eastman Kodak employees, the Lot CC area for MCC use is clearly defined with fixed orange barriers and signs. (A campus map is attached below.)

MCC will manage the maintenance and security of Lot CC. Enhancements within the premises will include the installation of security cameras and increased vehicle and/or foot patrols by Public Safety personnel. Your safety is our top priority. As always, MCC's Public Safety Department is available to assist you. They can be contacted at (585) 292-2912 or via the MCC Guardian app, which is available for download to your cellphone.

We believe this parking arrangement will ease parking constraints and allow us to better meet the needs of our students. We greatly appreciate your understanding and thank you for your cooperation.
