Don't forget about Daylight Hour!

For everyone who signed up thank you and don't forget to turn off your lights.

For anyone who didn't sign up but is still interested you still have time. See below for more information.

Daylight Hour is an annual social media campaign organized by the Building Energy Exchange to raise awareness about using natural daylight in lieu of electric lighting in offices. Launched in 2014, this simple and engaging campaign asks participating offices to turn off their lights in day-lit spaces for one hour on the Friday before the summer solstice.

Leading up to and during this hour, offices around the world share their involvement on social media, engaging their communities and showcasing their environmental commitment.

Last year I asked everyone to consider participating in this event. This year I'd like to go one step further and ask everyone who participates to register for the event and join our team page so that we can see who is participating.

Click this link:

Then follow these steps:

1: Click the green "Register" button

A window will pop up that says "select tickets for Monroe Community College" at the top.

2: Next to the heading that says "Multiple Offices (For One Organization) click the drop down and select (1) for personal space OR the number of people in your office area for shared space.

3: Click the green "Checkout" button

You will be taken to a registration page.

4: Fill in your registration information, and the registration information for the others you are registering (if multiples)

5: Under the "Other Information" Section, estimate the size of your office in square feet. Select "Building owner" under the owner or tenant question. Select "yes" for the final question (Have you already registered another office for your organization?)

6: Click "Complete"
