The High Falls neighborhood has been incredibly welcoming to MCC as we work toward establishing our new Downtown Campus there. Rochester Community Baseball, owner of the Rochester Red Wings baseball team and led by MCC Foundation director Naomi Silver, is among our many great partners in downtown Rochester.
Rochester Community Baseball is allowing MCC and our project partners to use the back section of MCC’s parking lot adjacent to Frontier Field for staging and storage of construction materials, equipment and vehicles during construction. In doing so, the Red Wings are giving up some parking spaces that normally would be available for baseball game attendees.
A staging area in close proximity to the new campus simplifies access to construction materials, saves time and cuts costs. Having this nearby staging area is anticipated to save about $500,000.
Please join me in thanking Naomi Silver and the Red Wings for helping to ensure the success of our new Downtown Campus. They have always been great partners, and I look forward to growing our relationship as we become neighbors.
