Susan Salvador Retires

After 25 years of dedicated service to Monroe Community College, Dr. Susan Salvador, Vice President of Student Services, has announced her intention to retire as of August 31, 2013. Her leadership, commitment and contributions to MCC are numerous and exemplary.

As you know, Susan has dedicated a significant portion of her career to Monroe Community College. She came to MCC as executive assistant to President Spina in 1988 and two years later joined the Counseling Center as Assistant Director. She took on increasing levels of responsibility in that department until, in 1996, she was named Assistant Vice President for Student Development. In 1996 and 1997, she became Assistant and then Associate Vice President for Student Services. She served 13 years as Vice President for Student Services and represented MCC on many local, state and national boards.

While her retirement is effective in August, Susan has decided to use leave time from now until then. Dick Ryther, currently Associate Vice President for Student Services, will serve as Interim Vice President for Student Services. A search will get underway later this semester.

I know you join me in wishing Susan the very best in her retirement.
