Tentative Agreement on FA Labor Contract Reached

Yesterday, the Faculty Association and College negotiating teams, with the assistance of our Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) mediator, arrived at a tentative agreement on the Faculty Association labor contract. While there are important steps yet to be taken, we are pleased that the parties were able to reach an agreement at the table.

Next steps include a ratification vote by the Faculty Association membership followed by approval by the MCC Board of Trustees. Faculty Association leadership will work with membership to define a timeline for the vote.

My thanks go to the members of both negotiating teams for the many months of hard work that brought us to a a tentative agreement that respects the significant and central contributions of our faculty and professional staff while also recognizing the College's financial responsibilities. All of us at MCC are united by our mission and share a deep commitment to helping our students succeed. That common ground was our guidepost. Please know that the Board and administration are grateful to all Faculty Association members for your unwavering commitment to MCC and our students, and for your patience throughout the negotiation process.
