A Conversation with Salva Dut and Linda Sue Park This Week

Water for South Sudan Founder and MCC Alumni Hall of Fame member Salva Dut (MCC Class of 2000) and author Linda Sue Park return to MCC this week to share Salva's inspiring story with the college community and local middle school students.

This event is free and open to the public.

Park's New York Times bestseller A Long Walk to Water, published in 2010 by Clarion Books, is a based on Salva's true story as one of 3,800 Sudanese "Lost Boys" airlifted to the United States beginning in the mid-1990s. The book is available in seven languages and is part of the New York State Education Department's Common Core English Language Arts curriculum.

Local middle school students will be on campus for the presentation. More than 11,000 students and teachers will participate in the discussion via live stream.
