Congratulations to Jenny Lorenz (Nursing) and Tish Williams (Grants) who each won first place "pumpkin trophies" in the MCC Toastmasters Club's 5th annual fall speaking contests.
Lorenz won the Table Topics competition by effectively speaking on her feet about ways people can improve their lives and, in turn, make the world a better place.
Through a prepared humorous speech, Williams took her audience on an entertaining journey that explored the English language and American dialects.
Kudos to the other competitors, including Judy Hill (Chemistry and Geosciences), Pam Kone (Applied Technologies) and Diane Navarro Dawson (Instructional Technologies), who inspired their audience.
