OptiPro Systems recently hosted a two-day course on advanced optical manufacturing for participants in the MCC Job-Readiness Training Program and highlighted the experience in its monthly newsletter. The course at OptiPro was held on the final days of the MCC program.
In the MCC Optics Fabrication Job-Readiness Training Program led by an industry professional, five participants spent six weeks focusing on optical fabrication equipment and techniques, such as grinding and polishing precision lenses. Training was in MCC’s new Optics Fabrication Lab in the Gleason Hall of Science and Technology on the Brighton Campus from July 25 through Sept. 1.
MCC provided the accelerated technical education and hands-on training in machining and optics fabrication this summer to address the critical shortages of middle-skill manufacturing workers in the Rochester region.
