MCC basketball players Danay Collier and Jeron Belin were named the MCC Athletes of the Week.
Collier, a freshman guard, averaged 24 points a game as the Lady Tribunes went 3-0 over the weekend. She had 25 in a win over Passaic CCC, 23 in a victory over Catholic U., and 24 in a win over Baltimore City CC.
Belin, a sophomore forward, registered three consecutive double-doubles as the MCC men's basketball team went 2-1 last week. He had 20 points and 13 rebounds in a win over Niagara College, 22 points and 11 rebounds in a loss to No. 5 Mott CC, and 22 points and 14 rebounds in a win over Jackson CC. Belin shot 77 percent (24-for-31) on the week.
