VanKirk to Retire

Peggy VanKirk is retiring!

Peggy started her career at MCC in 1987 as a Placement Coordinator and Lecturer for the College STAGE program located at 50 Chestnut Street, and she moved to Damon City Campus when it opened in 1992.  She continued at DCC when appointed director of the Work and Learn Center from 1998 – 2003, a progressive partnership between MCC and the Monroe County department of health and human services.  ETS was fortunate to have Peggy join the division in 2003. She worked in the vice president’s office for three years and then as coordinator for the office of online learning.  She has been responsible for providing leadership in the growth and development of MCC’s distance learning program and managing the instructional development team.

Peggy’s impact on MCC’s online learning program has been significant, including leading the evolution of the BOSS Program (Building Online Student Success), coordinating faculty training activities, and working with SUNY colleagues on numerous projects to benefit our online students and faculty. She has also served MCC in many capacities over the years, including strategic planning and Middle States assessment efforts. Please join me in thanking Peggy for her extraordinary service and wishing her well in her much-deserved retirement. Please stop by and see Peggy (Office – Bldg. 3, Room 150A) before her last day on June 30.
