Locally Grown Documentary Wins DV Award


Locally Grown, a 25-minute documentary produced by MCC’s Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute, won a 2011 DV Award for outstanding achievement in digital video.

Produced by Monroe Community College’s Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute and GROW Monroe, Locally Grown explores the history and impact of agriculture from the perspectives of farmers, operators, municipalities and others across the county. The documentary helps Monroe County consumers learn about the important role agriculture plays in the local economy.

The documentary was directed by John Frontuto; videography and editing by Daren Hammond of MCC’s Public Safety Training Facility. Locally Grown appeared on WHEC and six local cable access channels during the fall.
