MCC men's soccer player Shastri Spencer and volleyball player Lauren Krajewski have been named the first MCC Athletes of the Week of the 2008-09 school year.
Spencer, a sophomore midfielder, had five goals and an assist as the soccer team went 1-1 last week. Spencer had a career-high four goals and an assist in a 17-0 win over Jamestown-Olean. He then added one goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to 13th-ranked Mercer County CC.
Krajewski had her second straight strong outing as the MCC volleyball team reached the finals of the Jefferson CC Tournament. The sophomore outside hitter registered 41 kills, 41 digs, and six aces.
