Two Articles in Trade Publication Mention MCC

The Rochester Business Journal’s April 1 edition contains an article about an initiative led by Action for a Better Community and involving MCC and more than a dozen community partners. The Rochester Health Professional Opportunities Grant (Roc HPOG) initiative aims to provide local residents with a pathway out of poverty and to health care-related careers.

As MCC’s liaison to Roc HPOG, Laurel Sanger was interviewed for the article and was quoted on the program’s significance. The article appears on Page 6.

Another recent RBJ article focused on the photonics institute in Rochester. Alexis Vogt, chair of optical systems technology and associate professor, was interviewed about how the optics program has been impacted so far since it was announced that a $600 million federally funded research institute focused on integrated photonics will be housed in Rochester.

Alexis talked about proposed changes for the program in response to the industry’s needs. To read the article, click the link: <https://www.rbj.net/article.asp?aID=224964>
