Scholarship Open Raises a Record Breaking $120,000 for MCC Students

The Monroe Community College Foundation hosted its 33rd Annual Scholarship Open on Monday, June 26, 2017 at Oak Hill Country Club. MCC Foundation Director Phil Yawman was joined by fellow MCC Foundation Director and Alumni Hall of Fame Member Rick Brienzi '79 as co-chair of the tournament, which raised over $120,000 (net) to support student success.

This year's tournament winners were the M&T Bank team composed of MCC Trustee John Bartolotta, MCC Foundation Director Dan Burns, Dan Hogan and Bill Sentiff, capturing the Low Gross trophy with a score of -9. Platinum Sponsor, Annese & Associate's team of Phil Yawman, Jamie Aiello, Mike Fay and Steve Heath, were the Low Net Winners with a score of -12. Brett Thompson captured the prize for men's longest drive and Paul Parrone took home the prize for men's closest to the pin, while Mary Beth Rumble took home the women's closest to the pin.

MCC student Kyrren Love shared his perspective on the importance of scholarships for deserving students and inspired a Scholarship Call that raised just shy of $40,000! The Scholarship Call was facilitated by Don Jeffries '71 of VisitRochester, a MCC Alumni Hall of Famer and a MCC Foundation Director.
