Paul Pfenniger Advances to the STIHL TIMBERSPORTS U.S. Pro and Collegiate Championships

Congratulations to Facilities’ Grounds mechanic, Paul Pfenninger.  Paul, an avid outdoorsman, competed in the Mid-Atlantic Qualifier of the STIHL Timbersport Series on April 14, 2013, at Haywood College in Clyde, North Carolina and tied for third place against seven other competitors in the Professional category.  (There is also a Collegiate category.)  This is the highest rank finish thus far for Paul, who has been competing in the STIHL Timbersport Series since 1997.

Finishing third means Paul advances as one of only the top four competitors from each of the five regional Qualifiers (twenty, total), to the U.S. Pro Championship held June 7-9, 2013, in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee for an opportunity to represent the U.S. at the World Championship in Germany, October 24-26, 2013.

Tune in or set your DVR’s to see Paul in-action at the Mid-Atlantic Qualifier when it airs on the Outdoor Channel at 9 a.m. on Thursday, May 9, and again at 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 12; and please join me in wishing Paul continued success at the next round of competition.
