Rigoni, Kuby, Zinck, Fugate, and TRS Department Awarded Excellence in Innovation


At the recent assessment reception, the Committee on Assessment and Program Evaluation conferred the Excellence in Innovation Awards honoring faculty who used new, significant, and adaptable ideas in assessment projects completed in the past year:

Marcia Fugate and the TRS Department were recognized for including four innovations in the Evaluation of the Transitional Studies Department Services. Their innovative ideas included establishing an internal review process, attempting to measure affective student learning, recruiting Institutional Research to measure student persistence, and measuring the success of students taking TRS courses, but not enrolled in their program.

The CAPE committee also acknowledged Renee Rigoni, Pat Kuby, and Janet Zinck for designing a new assessment protocol and surveying faculty satisfaction/concerns as part of the Distance Learning Assessment Initiative.
