Marie Fetzner Co-authors JALN Volume

Marie Fetzner, Assistant to the Vice President, ETS and ETS DCC liaison, co-authored a volume of the Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks (JALN) that was devoted to the topic of online student retention.

Janet C. Moore, Ph.D., Chief Knowledge Officer of the Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C), was the primary co-author of JALN Volume 13:3, October 2009. Moore and Fetzner’s article, “The Road to Retention, A Closer Look at Institutions that Achieve High Course Completion Rates” addresses six institutions that support online retention rates of 80% or higher and considers them within the Sloan-C Five Pillars of Quality framework.

The volume includes an article that explores the Community of Inquiry framework and its relationship to retention in online programs, and it also includes reproductions of four other JALN articles on retention, one of which was co-authored by Moore and Fetzner. The abstract of this volume can be accessed at: https://www.sloan-c.org/publications/jaln/index.asp?op0=OR&filter0%5B%5D=1296.
