Middle States Visit: An Overwhelming Success

The Middle States Evaluation Team visit concluded on Wednesday, March 1.  Dr. Edward Yaw, chairman of the visiting team, presented a preliminary report and indicated that Monroe Community College successfully satisfied each of the 14 standards identified by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education.  While the report did not address the college’s reaccreditation, Dr. Yaw and members of the visiting team were impressed with the quality and level of professionalism of MCC staff and faculty as well as the exemplary performance and practices of all who work at the college.

I would like to express my personal thanks to the faculty and staff for their work on the self study document and to co-chairs, Chris Abbott and Valarie Avalone for their leadership.  I would also like to express my appreciation to the college trustees, the steering committee, staff and faculty for interviews and for providing requested documentation, and to all the individuals who worked so hard behind the scenes to accommodate the comfort and productivity of the visiting team.  Your commitment and pride in Monroe Community College was evident.

I will keep you informed as we continue to move through the accreditation process.
