Sherry Tshibangu Shares MCC’s Entrepreneurial Success Stories through NACCE Webinar, Publication

Sherry Tshibangu (Business Administration/Economics) once again took her message about the importance of entrepreneurship education at community colleges to the national level.

Tshibangu joined educators from Massachusetts, Minnesota, and Pennsylvania to present “Doing Lots with a Little: Relationship Building Produces High Value Entrepreneurship Programs,” a webinar hosted by the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship (NACCE) on February 3. The webinar responded to the growing interest in entrepreneurship education nationwide and shared ways to engage community support for programs at community colleges.

The webinar presenters were also featured in the winter/spring 2010 issue of
Community College Entrepreneurship, a journal published by NACCE. In the article, Tshibangu described her experience as one of the founders of the Pathways to Entrepreneurial Success forum that attracted 400 aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners to MCC last November. The resulted in a “coalition of academic, business and government organizations” focused on meeting the needs of entrepreneurs in the Greater Rochester community.
