Dr. Michael Jacobs Appointed Dean of Humanities & Social Sciences

I am very pleased to announce that Michael Jacobs' appointment as the Dean of the School of Arts & Humanities and the School of Social Sciences & Global Studies was approved by the MCC Board of Trustees on June 5, 2017.

Michael earned a BA in Media Studies and an MA in Humanities at the State University of NY at Buffalo and a Doctor of Arts (DA) in English from St. John's University.

Michael is joining us from Berkeley College where he has been serving as a Professor and Chair of the English Department at the New York Campus and as the Director/Founder of the Consortium for Critical Reading, Writing, and Thinking. At Berkley College, Dr. Jacobs was awarded both the Faculty of the Year: Excellence in Scholarship and Service Award and the Faculty of the Year: Excellence in Teaching Award. Dr. Jacobs brings experience in support of strategic planning, institutional accreditation, curriculum development, and shared governance leadership.
