Yom Hashoah Commemoration Gains Media Attention

MCC earned two media mentions this week in conjunction with Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day.

Professor Charles Clarke, Psychology, was interviewed by RNews earlier this week regarding the recent announcement that the largest Holocaust archive in the world (containing 50 million documents related to Jews and other victims of the Nazis) was being opened for public access. Clarke, who also serves as director of the Holocaust Genocide Studies Project (HGSP) at MCC, commented that "the paper trail left by the Nazis provides overwhelming evidence of the enormous scope of the Holocaust."  Clarke and members of the "Project" were in Washington, D.C. visiting the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum when the announcement was made on April 18, 2006.

WXXI Radio attended MCC's 16th annual Yom Hashoah Commemoration hosted by the HGSP on April 25. Phi Theta Kappa President and HGSP Member Amanda Wood was interviewed regarding the commemoration that included a candle lighting and calling of names. The segment also included an interview with Holocaust Survivor Sam Rind.
