MCC Daily Tribune

Recycling to save the earth. Bicycling to stop Diabetes.

Did you know that only 1 in 5 plastic bottles are recycled and that Americans throw away enough aluminum every three months to rebuild our entire commercial air fleet? Last year, approximately 36 billion aluminum cans went to landfills; Americans throw away 35 billion plastic bottles every year.

The MCC Bicycle Club has recently put recycle bins outside the theater in building 4 and outside the Forum in building 3 to collect returnable containers. The proceeds of returning these containers will go towards funding our team in the American Diabetes Association's Tour de Cure and ultimately to combat diabetes.

If you drink from returnable containers, you know, the ones that are worth a nickel in NY, please deposit them in one of our recycle bins. You will be fighting diabetes as well as keeping them out of the landfills.

If you would like to sponsor or join our team, go to https://main.diabetes.org/goto/MCCBC.
