Passing of Carl W. Treat, Retired Grounds Supervisor


I regret to inform you that Carl W. Treat, who retired from the Maintenance-Grounds Department, passed away on May 22 at the age of 91.

Mr. Treat worked at MCC for 15 years. He started as a ground equipment operator in 1969 and served as labor foreman a year later until his retirement in 1984. During his years of service, Mr. Treat was often praised by MCC student-athletes, administrators and employees for his diligence and outstanding work in getting fields and other competition areas in shape for tournaments. His services were vital to the success of the college’s athletic program.

Prior to coming to MCC, he worked as a grounds operator for Monroe County Parks Department.

Mr. Treat is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patricia (Farrell); his son, David; three grandsons; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial service was held May 25 at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Brighton, followed by interment at White Haven Memorial Park in Perinton.
