Feed a Body, Feed a Mind

Did you know that 8 million Americans go to bed and wake up hungry?  Or that 43% of adults at the lowest level of literacy proficiency live in poverty?  That one in ten households cannot even meet their daily basic needs?

Twenty-first century children face two major plagues: hunger and illiteracy.  They are the most at risk, and the most difficult to reach.  Project Graduation is a Phi Theta Kappa-sponsored event, in which we ask every student to collect a can of non-perishable food and a new or gently used book to be given to children in need.  Food donations will be given to Foodlink and book donations will be given to area schools.

Look for drop-off points in Building 3 near room 3-113, in Building 10, and in the North Atrium.  You can also bring donations to the Phi Theta Kappa office at 3-133 or drop off items at the June 1st graduation ceremony, in the Blue Cross Arena lobby.

Thank you for your assistance in this very vital project.
