Spring Semester Greetings and Updates from Middle States

Spring Semester Greetings from the Middle States Self-Study Steering Committee!

WHERE ARE WE IN THE PROCESS?
MCC’s Self-Study Teams are in the final stages of researching the College’s compliance with the Commission’s fourteen standards or Characteristics of Excellence and are now in the process of submitting preliminary drafts of their reports for review by the Steering Committee.  The Steering Committee reviews the study teams’ reports to ensure that all appropriate topics have been addressed and that there is adequate demonstration of institutional compliance with the Commission’s standards. The drafting and review of team reports can be the most labor intensive phase of the self-study process so the time commitment for all those involved cannot be understated.  For a full self-study timeline and list of milestones already reached see the attachment.

WHAT ARE THE NEXT STEPS?
After the study team reports and other relevant information have been compiled, the Steering Committee will begin to draft the self-study report itself.  The Steering Committee will create a concise, readable, and substantial draft document for review and comment by the campus community, including faculty members, students, trustees, and administrative staff.  Please refer to the Middle States website (see below) to receive updates about MCC’s reaccreditation efforts and to review any relevant materials as they are produced.
