MCC, MCC Foundation Receive National Educational Fundraising Award

For the third time in eight years, the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE ) awarded MCC and the MCC Foundation a 2016 CASE Educational Fundraising Award for overall performance. MCC is one of six public two-year institutions nationally to receive the award. The MCC Foundation manages all private, non-governmental gifts and support received on behalf of the college.

CASE award recipients are determined based on analysis of fundraising data submitted to the Council for Aid to Education’s Voluntary Support of Education Survey over a three-year period. Judges consider patterns of growth in total support, breadth of programs and other indicators of a mature, well-maintained fundraising program.

MCC Foundation Board of Directors Chair Jeremy Wolk announced the award at the August 8 MCC Board of Trustees meeting. He said, “Institutions do not apply for this award; it’s data driven. … This is a special honor that we will celebrate throughout the year with our donors and volunteers without whom this level of recognition could not have been achieved.”

Other public, two-year institutions to receive the award include Delta College (Mich.), Jamestown Community College (N.Y.), Lake Michigan College (Mich.), Patrick Henry Community College (Va.) and SUNY Westchester Community College (N.Y.).
