Bob King Helps to Launch "Grow Monroe" Initiative


On Monday morning, Monroe County representatives and local farmers launched the “Grow Monroe” program to promote locally grown produce.

In an interview with the Democrat and Chronicle, Bob King, director of MCC’s Agriculture and Life Sciences Institute, commented how Monroe County is unique. “We're one of the few counties in New York where you can get fruits and vegetables and meat and eggs in your own backyard.” King added that “Monroe County has at least 600 farm businesses, with about 100 farm markets and farm stands.”
