MCC freshman forward Moses Watkis was named the NJCAA Division I men's soccer National Player of the Week.
It was the second straight week an MCC athlete earned a national honor. Veronica Santiago won the same award on the women's side last week.
Watkis had a huge day against the Community College of Rhode Island last Saturday. The Tribunes and the Knights were tied at zero in the second half when Watkis assisted on the eventual game-winner. He then scored three consecutive goals to finish with a seven-point day.
For the season Watkis leads MCC with nine goals and 20 points. He has scored at least one goal in all five games the Tribunes (3-1-1) have played.
