Passing of Laura Tarricone, Retiree


The college was recently informed that Laura Tarricone, a 13-year member of MCC’s Dental Hygiene Care Center who retired in 1982, passed away on March 11 in North Chili, N.Y. A funeral mass was held on March 15, 2004 at Holy Name of Jesus Church and internment followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.

Laura worked at various colleges, including SUNY Brockport and MCC, as both a clerk and as a dental hygienist. She also was an advocate for state rent control. She volunteered for the Veterans Outreach, Cancer Action, Nazareth College and at information kiosks at both the Greater Rochester International Airport and Midtown Plaza. She was a member of the Italian American Community Center and enjoyed traveling to Europe, Mexico and Florida.

She is survived by her sister, Soffen (Frank) Caldarola; sister-in-law, Nancy Tarricone; brother-in-law, Rocco Della Rosa; aunt, Jean (Frank) Camelio; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In Laura’s memory, donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
