MCC Toastmasters Rich Nestlen (MCC alumnus) and Rosanna Yule (Marketing and Community Relations) both took first place in the Division B International Speech and Table Topics contests respectively. The contests were held at SUNY Geneseo on April 9. They each faced seven area contest winners.
International Speech Contest participants compete to determine the top motivational speaker to represent the division. This contest truly is “international” as winners go on to compete at district, regional and international levels. Table Topics Contest participants compete to deliver the best impromptu speech based on a topic only disclosed when the contestant takes the stage. The Table Topics Contest culminates at the district level.
Next, Nestlen and Yule will compete in the District 65 contests in Buffalo on April 29 and 30.
