Tracey Britton Earns Honors


Tracey Britton, women’s soccer coach, is the first recipient of the Murph Shapiro Excellence in Coaching Award.

This new award is given annually to a coach whose team has excelled on the field/court, in the classroom, and iin demonstrating commitment to community. Chris McVicker, a longtime friend of the college, funded this award and named it after his lifelong friend Murph Shapiro.

Britton was also honored this past weekend at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention. Britton earned her 2nd NSCAA Coach of the Year honor. This past year her team earned the region III title and the program’s 7th national title.

MCC student Melissa Hornfeck was also recognized for being NSCAA Player of the Year
