2008 Tour de Cure is coming!

What is better than being outside on a bicycle with a lot of friends, good food, and raising money for a great cause?

The Tour de Cure is a series of cycling events held in more than 80 cities nationwide to benefit the American Diabetes Association. Last year, the Rochester branch raised over $300,000 and was among the top 10 fundraising cities. The Tour is a ride, not a race, with routes designed for everyone from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist. Whether you ride 10 miles or 100 miles, you’ll travel a route supported from start to finish with rest stops, food to fuel your journey and fans to cheer you on! This will be my sixth year riding in it, each is better than the last.

Last year, the MCC Gang raised over $1500!

When and where is it?

Date: June 8, 2008
Location: Mendon Ponds Park

Join the MCC Gang team! Riding with people you know makes participating in the Tour de Cure even more fun!

I am looking for MCC co-workers, friends, family members or anyone who wants to do a great ride for a great cause.  I have developed a team on line web page located at: https://tour.diabetes.org.

To join in you can email me at <mailto:dgoede@monroecc.edu>, call me at 292-2465, or register on line by clicking the register button on the right side of the page and follow the prompts to Rochester NY. You will see a button to “Join a Team”. The teams name is “MCC Gang”.

Why Ride?
On behalf of the millions of Americans with diabetes and their families and friends, we are counting on you to help our team make a difference! The funds we raise will support the American Diabetes Association’s important research, information and advocacy efforts and its mission: to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes.

Have Fun!
If you choose to ride with us, you’ll get to take part in a fun, exciting, healthy event for the whole family! You can even invite friends and family to join us! Every rider counts!

Support our Team!
Support our team by making a donation, or join our team and ask your family and friends to ride with you! We can’t do it alone!
