Doctoral Survey Arriving in Your Outlook Mailbox This Week

All adjunct, part-time and full-time teaching faculty are invited to participate in an electronic survey on the topic of Service-Learning. The survey is vital to the completion of my doctoral program in Executive Leadership at St. John Fisher College. The survey will be delivered to your Outlook mailbox this week and will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.

I am equally interested in the responses from faculty members who DO include service-learning projects in their curriculum as well as those who DO NOT. I am evaluating the perceptions, motivations and concerns of faculty in regards to implementing service-learning projects in higher educational institutions.  In addition, I am seeking both service-learning and non-service learning faculty who would assist me in the completion of this research  through focus group dialogue.

The study has been approved by MCC’s Internal Review Board. No risk to participants have been identified and no incentives to participate are offered.  Information garnered in this study will be coded, password protected, and held in strict confidence. If the results are published, identities will remain absolutely confidential.

In addition to Monroe Community College, Nazareth College, RIT, and St. John Fisher faculty will also be participating. The results of this research will be shared with each institution. The purpose of this research is to expand the body of knowledge on the subject of service-learning.

If questions exist, please contact me: <"mailto:csmith@monroecc.edu"> or x 2772.

Thank you for participating!
