President's Wednesday Message

This week, as we continue to recognize and honor our amazing students and soon-to-be-grads, we also pause to recognize and honor our inspiring faculty and staff. Your belief, talent, commitment, and hard work make the difference for our students every day, and today, we have two festive events to celebrate you: Field Day and the Employee Recognition Ceremony.

Our second annual Field Day will run from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm rain or shine. You'll find the activities outside the Stabins Physical Education Complex (Building 10) if weather cooperates or in the gym and PAC Center if it doesn't. Music and giveaways will occur throughout the day. Participate in any five activities, and you'll be entered into drawings for prizes. Lunch is on the Kress-Davis family: choose from Sodexo Chicken BBQ or Nathan's Soup and Salad. And, don't miss the LuGia's Soft Serve Ice Cream and Doc Popcorn. Team up with colleagues in a game of bubble soccer, badminton, dodge ball, bocce, and more--or relax with the therapy dogs from PAWSativity, table games, or adult coloring. Thanks to the MCC Association, Academic Services, Administrative Services, EDIWS, and Student Services for volunteering their time and talent to ensure the success of this event and to keep it free for our employees!

After Field Day, we move on to the annual Employee Recognition Ceremony, which begins at 2:00 pm in the Theatre. The ceremony gives us the chance to honor our colleagues for their years of dedicated service, highlight their local and national awards for excellence, and recognize the retirement of valued friends and coworkers as they walk the red carpet into their next adventure. The Employee Recognition Ceremony offers all of us the chance to share our gratitude with the members of our community who make MCC so very special and whose careers will leave a lasting legacy of inspiration at our College. As always, the event will with an ice cream social staffed by the Provost, Vice Presidents, and myself.
