Poet and Professor Gary Rainford (English/Philosophy) Poetry reading: April 26

On Thursday, April 26, Gary Rainford (Online Adjunct Professor, English/Philosophy) will read poems from his latest book, Liner Notes in which lyrics from popular music are welded with memory and speculation. The reading starts at 4 PM, in 6-421, and is open to the entire college community.

Gary Rainford is the author of two poetry collections, Salty Liquor and Liner Notes. He lives on Swan's Island, Maine year-round with his wife and daughter. Gary's suite of poems, We Are Here, was an honorable mention selected by Betsy Sholl for The Gabriel Zimpritch Memorial Poetry Prize. His poems, shaped by tides, saltwater, and music, is published in a wide range of literary magazines, university journals, and newspapers. Liner Notes, says Gary, is a tribute to great songs, inspired musicians, poetic form, his love of singing in the shower, and playing acoustic, air-guitar.
