Ibero-American Action League's Gladys Pedraza-Burgos '91 to Address Graduates

MCC celebrates the success of the Class of 2018 and looks forward to the inspiring words of MCC Alumni Hall of Fame member Gladys Pedraza-Burgos '91. Gladys will deliver the Message to the Graduates at MCC's Commencement, Saturday morning, June 2 at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial.

Gladys is a community advocate and the chief operations officer for Ibero-American Action League, Inc. Celebrating its 50th year serving Rochester, Ibero is a dual-language human services agency that offers programs for children, youth, families, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Gladys is responsible for the administration and day-to-day operations of Ibero's departments, programs and resources.

The first person in her family to graduate from high school and earn a college degree, Gladys earned an associate in applied science degree in liberal arts (business concentration) from MCC in 1991, followed by a bachelor of science degree in communication studies from The College at Brockport and a master of science degree in counseling and human development from the University of Rochester's Warner School of Education.

She and Ibero partner with MCC on student recruitment-related efforts, including the annual Ibero Scholar's Award and Gala. During the past year, Ibero awarded 86 college scholarships to local high school seniors.

MCC's Commencement ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Blue Cross Arena at the War Memorial. The ceremony will be streamed live via www.monroecc.edu.
