MCC Students: Participate in Recovery and Rebuilding Efforts in Puerto Rico this June and July

In the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, Governor Cuomo and SUNY are teaming up to provide aid and relief to the people of Puerto Rico through the New York Stands with Puerto Rico Recovery and Rebuilding Initiative.

The initiative calls for student volunteers from throughout the SUNY system to work through an on-location NGO to help conduct "recovery work including debris removal, roof repair, and light construction." Participating students will be placed in one of four groups sent to Puerto Rico for two-week periods--the first beginning in mid-June (see the link below for details).

Students must apply to participate. Click here to access the application form, which includes trip dates and a more thorough description of the initiative. Applications are due this Thursday, May 17.

This is a great opportunity for students to participate in a meaningful humanitarian project while earning credit and engaging in global learning.

For more information, visit the Office of Global Education and International Services (3-108).
