RBJ Coverage of MCC's Workforce Development Efforts, Downtown Campus Award

Three articles in Rochester Business Journal's Jan. 12 edition prominently mention MCC.

-- "Manufacturing jobs go begging," cover page. The article examines why the advanced manufacturing industry continues to experience a shortage of skilled workers and what local and national efforts are under way to reverse current trends. Vice President Oldham and Dale Pearce, Applied Technologies Center staff member, were interviewed for the article.

-- "Job demand outpaces college workforce training programs," Page 12. Citing Gov. Cuomo's workforce development proposals in his 2018 State of the State address, the article describes MCC's data-mining efforts to help the college make informed decisions on educational and training programs and to help provide communities with a deeper understanding of local employers' workforce demands. Vice President Oldham was interviewed for the article.

-- "Campus accolades," Page 29. The Downtown Campus was recently named Project of the Year by the Genesee Valley Branch of the American Public Works Association.
