Department of Human Services Information Session (DHS 101)

The Monroe County Department of Human Services is a complex agency that may present challenges to those in the community who are working with individuals in need of public benefits and services. Recognizing the potential for difficulties and the value of information, DHS will be presenting: DHS 101. This informative, interactive session will provide an opportunity to learn about DHS policies and procedures including:

  • The Application Process
  • Emergency Assistance
  • Diversion Benefits
  • SNAP
  • Day Care
  • Employment Requirements
  • Work First Philosophy
  • Results of Non-Compliance with Program Eligibility Requirements, such as Case Denials and Sanctions

After attending this session, our community partners will have a greater understanding of DHS Financial Assistance policies, procedures and helpful tools to assist clients through the process when needed.

The 1st session is Monday, October 16th, 9am to 1pm, Downtown Campus, High Falls Event Space 320 A & B

A 2nd session will take place on Thursday, November 2nd, 1pm to 5pm, Downtown Campus, High Falls Event Space 320 A & B
