News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center, Warshof Conference Center, on the Brighton Campus on Monday, April 3 and took the following actions:

1.            Accepted the Interim Financial Report as of February 28, 2017.

2.            Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of February 2017.

3.            Authorized Ronald Ricotta, Chair of the Finance and Facilities Committee, or John Bartolotta, Chair of the Board of Trustees, to approve budget transfers on behalf of the Board of Trustees through the end of the budget year August 31, 2017.

4.            Approved the resolution extending the term of the current lease with Sibley Redevelopment Limited Partnership, successor in interest to Rochwil Associates, of its downtown campus located at the Sibley Building, 228 Main Street, Rochester, New York, for the three and one half (3.5) month period beginning April 16, 2017 and expiring July 31, 2017, at a monthly rate of $440,916.67/month.

5.            Approved the appointment of Department Chairs for the Academic Year 2017-18, each to receive an annual stipend in accordance with provisions of the current agreement with the Faculty Association.

6.            Adjusted 2017/2018 base annual salaries in accordance with Article 47 of the current contractual agreement with the Faculty Association for four members, as listed, effective September 1, 2017.

7.            Approved the resolution honoring the memory of humanitarian Alfred M. Hallenbeck, dedicated trustee of Monroe Community College from 1966 to 1981, for his caring counsel and passion for higher education and the success of MCC students.


The Board heard presentations from President Anne M. Kress on Strategic Plan Dashboard Direction Two:  Workforce Education and Career Pathways and Direction Three:  Partnerships; Vice President Todd Oldham on labor market information available at www.mcclmi.com and Chair of the MCC Foundation Board of Directors Jeremy Wolk on the Foundation's support of Dreamkeepers.
