MCC Baja team competes in SAE design competition

The MCC Baja team thanks the college community for their support of Tribune Racing as we competed in the SAE Baja Auburn race April 19-22.  This competition challenges college students to design, build, and race a single seat off road vehicle that must be safe, reliable, easy to maintain and fun to drive.  We were joined by teams from some of our neighbor schools (RIT, UR, UB & Clarkson), and teams from West Point, Canada, Mexico, India, and an all girls team from Embry Riddle.  Initial results were positive as we placed 16th and 22nd in the Acceleration and Hill Climb events respectively.  Unfortunately mechanical issues bogged us down in the Maneuverability, Suspension, and Endurance events.  We repaired and were able to rally to a 50th place finish in the four hour Endurance race. Our overall placement was 63rd out of 89 total entries trailing such luminaries as Cornell (the overall winner), RIT and Johns Hopkins, but placing ahead of Bucknell, Michigan State, and NJIT.  Check the Engineering Science Facebook page (MCCESP) for pictures from the event, and some of our other design teams.  MCC Baja: Design, Build, Race, Win!
