DCC Celebrates the Joy of Reading and Writing in April


The DCC Campus Life Engagement Committee has developed activities highlighting the joy of reading and writing for the month of April. The goal is to provide students with fun interactive writing experiences that tap into their creativity. 

Monday, April 12 – 12-1 PM – DCC Room 4151 – The Joy of Reading & Writing Collaboration with Writers & Books – An interactive writing experience led by Writers & Books instructor Wendy Low titled “Your Life” using guided meditation and prose. 

Wednesday, April 14 – 12-1 PM – DCC Room 4151 – Thom Ward, well known poet and editor of BOA Editions. BOA Editions is an independent not-for-profit, award-winning publisher of poetry and short fiction fostering readership and appreciation of contemporary literature. Thom will read poetry and share ideas with students about poetry, reading, writing, publishing and reciting. Thom has written numerous poetry books, his most recent are titled “Various Orbits” and “The Matter of the Casket.”
