Over 100 spectators were present to cheer on 10 radiography school teams from across New York State during the New York State Society of Radiologic Sciences Student Bowl on October 23, 2004 in Corning, NY.
Congratulations to MCC's Radiologic Technology students Ken Bowen, J. Kirk Hampton, Jennifer Ortega, and Marianna Secor who captured 3rd place! A trophy was award to the team. The Student Bowl is a prestigeous event, one in which students all over the NY practice for months! The Rochester Society of Radiologic Technologists sponsored the MCC team. Students also participated in various presentations and activities while at the conference.
The Student Bowl has been a major labor of love by MCC's Radiologic Technology faculty for many years. Eileen Doyle, Tony Joseph, Paulette Peterson, and Cindy Smith have worked tirelessly over the last four years to transform the 'game' from paper to high-tech format which now resembles the computerized licensure exam called the Registry. The faculty also thanks Gerry Smith from ETS who has served as the technical coordinator for this event over the last three years.
