Angie Suss Paull, Holocaust Survivor, Speaks Tonight in Forum

The Holocaust Genocide Studies Project invites the college community to hear local Holocaust Survivor Angie Suss Paull tell her story.

“On September 8, 1939, the day Angie Suss Paull (born Andzia Szpilman) turned 17, German troops occupied Lodz, Poland. With the Nazi invasion, life as she knew it ended abruptly. Until that moment Angie had lived a comfortable, happy childhood, one of three children in a close, loving family. Angie no longer could attend school and fulfill her dream of becoming an accountant. Her family’s home and business were taken away. They were forced into poverty in the crowded conditions of the Lodz Ghetto. Four years later, Angie was sent with her remaining family members to Auschwitz. Only her sister, Margot, survived with her.”

Angie never spoke about her story until she was asked by MCC to speak at an event. Now, over ten years later, Angie speaks regularly at area schools and has written a book detailing her life after liberation.

Hear her story tonight, April 5th at 6:00 pm in MCC’s Flynn Campus Center Forum (3-130).
