News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees met in the Warshof Conference Center, R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center on the Brighton Campus on Monday, February 6, 2017 and took the following actions:

1.            Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of November 30 and December 31, 2016.

2.            Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the months of November and December 2016.

3.            Approved the annual audit of Monroe Community College for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2016, as conducted by Bonadio & Co., LLP.

4.            Approved the Academic Calendar for 2018-2019.

5.            Approved a successor agreement with the CSEA for the period of September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2021, in accordance with the settlement agreement between Monroe Community College and the Monroe Community College Employees Unit #7402, Monroe County Local 828, CSEA, as agreed to by the negotiating teams on June 23, 2016 and December 7, 2016 and ratified by the CSEA on December 20, 2016.


The Board heard presentations from Bonadio & Co. regarding the College’s annual audit; Associate Professor of Visual and Performing Arts James Downer; Interim Dean of STEM and Health Sciences and Physical Wellness Dan Robertson, and Professor of Physics/Engineering Science John Wadach on their 2015-2016 Faculty Senate Strategic Planning Grants; and CFO and Vice President of Administrative Services Hezekiah Simmons on benefits cost comparison with other SUNY community colleges.
